Derek P. Richmond


After growing up in Florida, Mr. Richmond attended Georgetown University, receiving his Bachelor of Arts in English.  Following graduation, he enrolled at The Catholic University’s Columbus School of Law, earning his juris doctorate in 2008.  While in law school, Mr. Richmond’s article on the 4th Amendment implications of GPS tracking was published by the CommLaw Conspectus.  Since his admission to the Virginia Bar, Mr. Richmond has concentrated his practice on criminal defense, handling hundreds of cases each year.  Mr. Richmond’s experience ranges from representation in minor traffic offense to federal narcotics felonies.

Prior to opening his own practice, Mr. Richmond litigated criminal and civil cases for two small firms in Fairfax.  He now serves on the board of the Fairfax Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section, and continues to be active in the local bar association.  Mr. Richmond focuses on criminal defense and traffic matters, where his experience ranges from representation in minor speeding cases to federal narcotics felonies.


Michael J. Vivenzio


Mr. Vivenzio comes from a family of attorneys, and has been interested in the practice of law since his youth. He grew up in North Carolina, where he graduated from Elon University with degrees in Communications and Business Administration. Later, Mr. Vivenzio received his Juris Doctorate from Elon University School of Law, concentrating in contract negotiation and criminal litigation. Since moving to Virginia and joining the bar, Mr. Vivenzio has practiced in the areas of criminal defense, contract negotiation, civil litigation, and family law.

Prior to joining Richmond Law Group, PLLC, Mr. Vivenzio worked for two private law firms in the Northern Virginia area where he gained experience litigating cases throughout Northern Virginia, including Loudoun, Fairfax, Prince William, Arlington, Stafford, Fauquier, Herndon, Falls Church, and Alexandria counties. At Richmond Law Group, Mr. Vivenzio will practice in the fields of personal injury, estate planning, criminal defense, and family law.
